Scott Murphy has called Everett home for over 32 years and is married to Kippy. Together, they raised their three children in Everett.

Scott served on the Everett City Council from January 2013 through December 2021 where he prioritized public safety, including responsive fire, EMS and police services. In addition, he was Chair of the City Council’s budget committee where he encouraged open and transparent budgets and helped to ensure fiscal responsibility and diligence throughout the various City departments.

Scott is the retired President of Goldfinch Bros., Inc., a Commercial and Residential glazing contractor in business in Everett since 1892. Scott joined the Company in 2008 as Chief Operating Officer and helped the Company to grow and prosper, increasing the products and services offered throughout the Puget Sound region.

Prior to joining Goldfinch Bros., Scott was Vice President of Finance for Safeco Insurance Company of America, where he held several senior level finance positions over an eight year period.

In 2013, Scott co-founded AD Systems, a company focused on high-performance sliding door systems targeted at the healthcare and office markets. Scott assisted in building the brand into a company with national distribution and, in 2018, was instrumental in the sale of the business to Allegion plc, a publicly traded company.

In 2006, Scott joined with a group of local business people and co-founded Mountain Pacific Bank, based in Everett. The goal was to help Everett individuals and businesses to achieve success in their endeavors. The Bank has grown over the past 18 years and now operates a total of five branches from Seattle all the way north to Bellingham.

Scott has a strong record of community service dedicating considerable time to volunteer service, youth activities and community affairs. Scott has been actively involved for many years as a volunteer board member for various non-profit organizations, including service as Board Chair for The Community Foundation of Snohomish County, the Everett Public Schools Foundation and as a Coach and League President for North Everett Little League. Scott also served on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County and for the Snohomish Health District. Scott currently serves as the President and Board Chair for the Everett Public Facilities District, which oversees the Angel of the Winds Arena and is a Board member for the Providence Hospital General Foundation. Scott is a 1984 graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration. Scott also held a CPA license in the State of Washington for 36 years up until 2021.
